About the Position Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU – UHC Staffing
Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU Location: Phoenix, AZ Start Date:
02-16-2026 End Date: 05-18-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM;
schedule includes nights and weekends (approximately 4 weekend
shifts per 4 weeks); may include standby shifts and floating
between Neuro ICU and Tele units Hours per Week: 48 Candidate Pay

Roles & Responsibilities Provide high-quality, evidence-based neuro
critical care for patients with complex neurosurgical diagnoses
Perform focused neuro assessments and manage ICP monitoring and EVD
care with precision Manage ventilated patients in collaboration
with Respiratory Therapy and pharmacy teams Perform and maintain
sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line
dressing changes Accurately document patient care and assessments
in Cerner EMR Float to Tele and other ICU units as needed,
accepting variable patient assignments including 4:1 on tele
Complete SIMs Lab competencies and pass unit skills checks to
ensure safe practice Advocate for patients and collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes Qualifications Active
Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for Arizona Current BLS and
ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a
large (450) facility; will consider 18 months if experience is from
a Neuro ICU Required Level 1 trauma experience EVD experience and
strong ICP monitoring skills required Proven ventilator management
skills and comfort working with Phillips monitors Experience with
Cerner EMR preferred Willingness to complete pre-employment and
on-unit skills exams (DYS exam, SIMs Lab) and meet facility
fit-test/grooming policies Travel teams must have their own
vehicle; first-time travelers welcome Knowledge & Skills Expert
neuro assessment and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring EVD
management and sterile field maintenance Ventilator management and
understanding of ventilator settings Central line dressing changes
and Foley catheter insertion competency Telemetry monitoring and
Phillips monitor familiarity Wound care, port-a-cath familiarity,
patient lifts and restraints Comfort charting in Cerner EMR and
working in a high-acuity ICU environment SIMs lab competency and
