RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client seeking a Production Manager with Extrusion Blow Molding in Prescott, Arizona (AZ). We are working directly with the Hiring Manager.

Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for production plant safety, systems, equipment performance, and finished part production meeting specifications. The Manager is responsible for the machine shop and the development/maintenance of blow mold tools. This position will lead the entire plant towards lean manufacturing, six sigma performance and best business practices. Currently, the Production Manager supervises a team of 26 employees.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Establish and maintain a clean/safe plant following 5S guidelines
  
• Work with the management team to develop an efficient production schedule given customer needs
  
• Lead a team of 26 people including shift supervisors and individual contributors
  
• Oversee tool and die shop
  
• Interface with customers; Need to speak to limitations of equipment and manage the expectations of the customer
  
• Lead the plant and tool shop into more lean manufacturing
  
  
• Act as the GM's right-hand person
  
  
• Collaborate on policies and procedures
  
• Direct and coordinate plant operations
  
  
• Responsible for machine and facility maintenance scheduling and tracking
  
  
• Responsible for plant production goals
  
• Responsible for plant procurement
  
• Assist in mold design
  
  
• Foster a well-trained and motivated staff by developing a documented training schedule and recognizing achievement
  
• Responsible for establishing shift production schedules, both current and future additional shifts
  
• Daily reports on safety, delivery, and equipment calculations
  
  
• Conduct employee performance reviews
  
  REQUIREMENTS:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
    
  • Minimum 6-10 years of related manufacturing and supervisory experience
    
  • Prior hands on experience with Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) a must
    
  • Understanding Beckem 121 equipment or other extrusion, blow mold machines a must
    
  • Strong plastics experience
    
    
  • Process improvement experience required
    
  • Must have CNC experience; Prior hands on experience strongly preferred
    
  • Prior PLC programming experience desired but not a must; Must have at least led people that have done this
    
  • Lean manufacturing experience highly desired
    
  • Prior leadership experience a must
    
    
  • Experience with CNC, Mill/Lathe, calipers, scales, other hand tools
    
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Access Database, PowerMill and PowerShape CAD software
    
  • High level of proficiency in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC systems, and other skills needed to troubleshoot and maintain extrusion blow mold equipment
    
  • Leadership skills with the ability to affect change and improve plant conditions and performance
