EHS Coordinator This position is located in: Prescott, AZ Summary/Objective: The EHS Coordinator is an energetic, driven and forward-thinking individual who will help drive Environmental, Health and Safety ("EHS") initiatives at the local manufacturing facility. This position plays a key role in the EHS Department with responsibilities including gathering data for environmental reports, services, and training, incident investigation and reporting, and other duties as set forth below. The EHS Coordinator provides technical support to local manufacturing staff and facility leaders with regard to EHS matters. With support from the EHS Manager, this individual will implement EHS programs, coordinate EHS trainings, assist in reporting and required recordkeeping, and help ensure compliance with local and federal EHS laws and regulations. This position requires close collaboration with other EHS team members across the Company, local facility leadership, engineering and functional areas. Essential Job Functions: Ensure location compliance with local and federal environmental regulations in the fields of air, storm water, wastewater, and hazardous waste/waste management Compile environmental data to assist in analyzing trends and provide creative proactive solutions Assist in the development of the pollution prevention program Gather data needed to prepare and submit necessary environmental reports to regulatory agencies within specific timeframe. Reports include: air emissions inventory, hazardous waste generation, Form R report, Tier II, pollution prevention and wastewater monitoring Develop and facilitate associate training in EHS disciplines under the Ruger University Program Assist EHS Shared Services with the implementation of unified Company-wide "One Best Way" EHS programs and work with the other Ruger locations on projects as required Review process equipment for environmental concerns Conduct regular chemical inventory, facilitate local SDS and chemical compliance Conduct regular industrial hygiene sampling, which includes noise, air, wipe, and bacterial samples Administer EHS programs, including, but not limited to, industrial hygiene, HazCom and various safety projects associated with OSHA and NFPA regulations Assist with investigating and reporting occupational incidents, determining root cause and recommending and implementing corrective actions as necessary Manage the MSDSOnline (Safety Data Sheet) database and all requirement of the GHS SDS Hazard Communication standard Must exhibit proficient communication and computer skills with Microsoft Suite Ideal Candidate Profile: Communication proficiency Experience in Microsoft Office Must demonstrate thoroughness, and good time management skills Must be capable of working independently with little supervision and also collaboratively with teams Physical Demands: Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Push/pull: Typically less than one pound. Job is performed sitting or standing. Frequent walking is required as visiting associates and work areas on the plant floor are regular aspects of the job duties. Twisting, rotating fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, biceps, knees, legs, ankles, hips, shoulders, neck, upper & lower back are required. Must be able to bend, stoop, and pivot. Functions of the job vary daily as do the range of nursing duties. Work Environment: May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and OPIM bodily fluids including blood. Will be exposed to loud noises, as loud as 85 dcB or higher while on the plant floor. Those areas are in a mandatory hearing conservation program as required by OSHA standards. Personal protective equipment that is required includes hearing protection (ear buds or ear muffs), safety glasses, and gloves (as needed). Shoes must be slip resistant, or rubber hard soles, with closed toes and heel. Travel: Some travel required, on an as needed basis. Required Education and Experience: One or more years of work experience in Environmental or EHS position(s) required. BS in Environmental Engineering or related degree preferred. Certifications: Current or Ability to Obtain: 40 hr. HAZWOPER 16 hr. Hazardous Materials Transportation DOT 16 hr. RCRA Regulation and Compliance Method 9 - Visual Opacity Additional Requirements: You must be 21+ years of age, able to pass a drug screen and background screen.
