Thank you for your interest in employment with the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and its entities. Some points regarding completion of the employment application are particularly important to us. l. The completed application will be reviewed for completeness by the Human Resources Department and other designated Managers, who will determine whether to interview the applicant. We do not automatically interview all applicants.

  • If no interview is planned, the application is placed in an active file for the position involved and held for a period of three months. These applications are reviewed at a later time, if and when additional openings for the position become available.
  • If an interview is planned, the applicant will be contacted by the Human Resources Department, normally within one to two weeks after the position's announced close date. 2. Interviewees who are selected for employment are usually contacted within two to three days after their interview. Arrangements will then be made to complete all necessary paperwork to begin the background investigation. Many pre-hires will be required to complete an application packet for Arizona Department of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License depending on position offered.
    • The fee for certification will be payable by the pre-hire depending on the position offered. 3. If you are selected for the position, a background investigation will be completed that includes, but is not limited to, verification of:
      • Employment History
      • Education
      • Personal References
      • Comprehensive Financial Background Check
      • Criminal/Civil Record (Fingerprints will be sent to the FBI) Driving Record
      • Current Filed Federal and State Tax Returns Important information for the candidate.
        • Felony convictions will be grounds for denial of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License.
        • All new hires will be required to submit verification of authorization to work within the United States in accordance with federal law. Employment is contingent on passing a drug test.
        • Preference in filling any non-grant / non-contract funded vacancies is given to enrolled Tribal Members of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and to other qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Employment Preference Policy and Procedure. Documentation of Tribal enrollment required (Tribal Enrollment Card, Certificate of Indian Blood or Tribal Voter Registration Card). POSITION TITLE: TABLE GAMES DEALER

          FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

          SCOPE OF WORK:
          Table Games Dealers provide our guests with the finest possible facilities, equipment, service, and courtesy. Responsible for dealing any game assigned to, within the live Table Gaming Pit. Deals a standardized, smooth, and mechanically efficient game. Controls game action and players. Ensures games are dealt and collections taken in agreement with casino operating practices. Has knowledge of all Yavapai Gaming Agency casino tournaments and promotions. Fills in as Pit Boss as needed.
          Will become familiar with the Tribal/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commission's (NIGC) Regulations, the Tribal Gaming Code, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and Departmental Internal Controls and Job Instructions.

          This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Tribe and the employee and is subject to change as the needs of the Tribe and requirements of the position change. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position;
          Will be knowledgeable and competent in live game dealing;
          Will continually provide quality customer service that provides a friendly, congenial, harmonious atmosphere with employees in which guests can enjoy themselves;
          Will follow all dealing rules and Internal Controls;
          Will enter box, give and receive any information about games with the outgoing Dealer;
          Will deal and control games per applicable Casino Pit Operating Practices;
          Will protect assigned game chips, dice and/or cards at all times until relieved;
          Will take proper collection of jackpot drops;
          Will call Pit Boss for any problems or floor decisions;
          Will cooperate with all other live gaming and floor personnel.

          Must have a high school diploma or GED;
          Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribe/Gaming's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment;
          Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the Tribe/Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal State Compact and/or Tribal Gaming Ordinance;

          JOBDES-Card Dealer
          Must adhere to all Tribal/Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures;
          Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently as appropriate or necessary;
          Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time;
          Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong orientation to excellent customer service;
          Must be able to handle pressure and difficult situations;
          Must have reliable, accurate attention to detail; must be very accurate in handling money;
          Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
          Must be able to lift, and periodically carry, up to 25 lbs.;
          Must be able to work flexible hours.
