Job Description:

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and its entities. Some points regarding completion of the employment application are particularly important to us. l. The completed application will be reviewed for completeness by the Human Resources Department and other designated Managers, who will determine whether to interview the applicant. We do not automatically interview all applicants.

  • If no interview is planned, the application is placed in an active file for the position involved and held for a period of three months. These applications are reviewed at a later time, if and when additional openings for the position become available.
  • If an interview is planned, the applicant will be contacted by the Human Resources Department, normally within one to two weeks after the position's announced close date. 2. Interviewees who are selected for employment are usually contacted within two to three days after their interview. Arrangements will then be made to complete all necessary paperwork to begin the background investigation. Many pre-hires will be required to complete an application packet for Arizona Department of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License depending on position offered.
    • The fee for certification will be payable by the pre-hire depending on the position offered. 3. If you are selected for the position, a background investigation will be completed that includes, but is not limited to, verification of:
      • Employment History
      • Education
      • Personal References
      • Comprehensive Financial Background Check
      • Criminal/Civil Record (Fingerprints will be sent to the FBI) Driving Record
      • Current Filed Federal and State Tax Returns Important information for the candidate.
        • Felony convictions will be grounds for denial of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License.
        • All new hires will be required to submit verification of authorization to work within the United States in accordance with federal law. Employment is contingent on passing a drug test.
        • Preference in filling any non-grant / non-contract funded vacancies is given to enrolled Tribal Members of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and to other qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Employment Preference Policy and Procedure. Documentation of Tribal enrollment required (Tribal Enrollment Card, Certificate of Indian Blood or Tribal Voter Registration Card). POSITION TITLE: CASINO HOST

          REPORTS TO: Marketing Director

          FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

          SCOPE OF WORK: The Casino Host will develop and maintain superior relationships with guests and staff by equal utilization of professionalism and personality. Seek new and targeted players to inform them of the benefits of all player development programs. Will maintain close ties with targeted guests through phone and personal contact to generate incremental gaming revenues. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
          This position will become familiar with the American Gaming Association (AGA) Voluntary Guidelines for Casino Marketing and Advertising.

          WORK PERFORMED:
          This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Tribe and the employee and is subject to change as the needs of the Tribe and requirements of the position change. The duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list, but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position;
          Will speak with players in person or on telephone to market promotions and events; Will identify potential new members for the Slot Club and explain card benefits; Will walk through casino to identify registered players and prospective players in all gaming areas; Will greet guests in the casino and participate in social events and special promotions; Will develop player relationships to ensure gaming loyalty and retention to minimize player defection and maximize revenue; Will maintain and analyze, with database admin, opportunities and productivity; Will work in conjunction with all Marketing Department staff to ensure guests are appropriately accommodated (i.e., accurate room reservations, comps, offers, etc.); Will generate attendance for special events. Interact with invited players and provide guest service in a professional and courteous manner; Will act as a resource to VIP guests by maintaining a working knowledge of facilities, events and promotions; Will track and monitor guest feedback and participation on an on-going basis to determine program effectiveness; Will comply with state laws, Title 31 and attend all mandatory compliance and training sessions; Will build and maintain excellent communication and relationships with guests to market our gaming product and amenities to valued guests; Will be energetic, friendly, and professional at all times; Will provide information on current and upcoming special events, promotions, entertainment and all casino facilities; Will resolve any problem or perceived guest inconvenience in order to ensure guest satisfaction; Will provide special services to include food, beverage, transportation, cross-property events and Slot Club programs; Will maintain up to date knowledge of all gaming machines, table games, player tracking systems, promotions, events, entertainment and general property information; Will perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing Director.

          JOBDES - Casino Host

          MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
          Must have a high school diploma or GED;
          Must have at least a year of guest service experience;
          Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribe/Gaming's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment;
          Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable under the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe's Auto Insurance Carrier;
          Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong orientation to excellent guest service;
          Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently;
          Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the Tribe/Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal State Compact and/or Tribal Gaming Ordinance;
          Must adhere to all Tribal/Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures;
          Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
          Must be proficient with PC spreadsheet and database skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and maintain a professional appearance;
          Must be highly organized and have ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
          Must be able to lift and periodically carry, up to 25 lbs.;
          Must be able to work flexible hours;
          Must be at least 21 years of age.
