Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, invites
applicants for a tenure track faculty position in our Simulation
Science, Gaming and Animation Program. Embry-Riddle's Prescott
Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and
training for tomorrow's aviation, aerospace, security and
intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate
reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages
are 80F in the summer and 45F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea
level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness
areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small,
private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with
approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is
highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located
100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand
Successful candidates will demonstrate design, technical,
programming, and critical-thinking expertise related to interactive
digital content, matched by a complementary teaching ability.
Ideal candidates will have teaching, research, and production
experience in several of the following areas: game development, 3D
content creation, animation, mixed reality, computer graphic
systems, distributed simulation and training environments,
artificial intelligence, real-time and multi-player game systems,
simulation modeling, game software development, and human-centered
simulation systems applying the state-of-the-art in computer
graphics and other human-interface technologies.
Candidates must be interested in emerging media, which focuses
on developing new forms of interactive media and creating
story-driven content. Areas of application include simulators,
electronic games, and mixed reality experiences, etc., using
simulation as an optimization tool for effective design, planning,
analysis, decision-making, and entertainment. Candidates will
prepare and instruct students in the development of user-based

programming languages necessary for interactivity and graphics.
Candidates should have a substantial background in digital media
and computer science.
The candidate must exhibit excellent teaching and scholarly
credentials, be passionate about undergraduate education, have
intellectual curiosity, and work well with interdisciplinary teams
cooperating on productions, course design, and curriculum related
to developing immersive real-time experiences and simulations.
At the time of employment, the preferred candidate will have a
terminal degree in an area related to Game Design, Computer
Science, 3D Animation, Interactive Media Arts, or Simulation
