SummaryThe Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for one (1) Program Support Assistant (Health Benefits Advisor) to work in the Patient Business Office (PBO) Service Line in the Enrollment and Eligibility office, Prescott, Arizona. The incumbent provides have the responsibility for determinations of eligibility, entitlement in accordance with federal regulations for Veterans seeking health care services at the Department of Veterans Affairs in NAVAHCS. In that capacity, provides a full range of administrative support duties such as collecting data and preparing various one-time and recurring reports. Work requires comprehensive knowledge of rules, regulations and other guidelines relating to completing assignments in the program area assigned. Duties include but are not limited to the following:Determine eligibility and legal entitlement of all applications for medical benefits for inpatient hospitalization, outpatient medical services, dental services, nursing home care, domiciliary services, vocational rehabilitation, ChampVA, and TRICARE services.Serve as the primary point of contact for the medical staff and other services in advising them on the basis of eligibility determinations.Advise Veterans of changes in laws and regulations, as they occur, which impact or change Veteran's medical plete all required 10-1OEZ forms to process an application for care.Enter data into the VistA computer system for all patients applying for care i.e. demographic data, employment data, military history, and financial and insurance information.Enter information into VistA computer system, generates an administrative and medical record chart complete with bar coding.Once eligibility is determined, enroll Veterans to the VA health care system and assigns appropriate facility (CBOC or medical center).Ensure that local and network policies are being followed consistent with national policies. Capture insurance information on all Veterans and their spouses for third party claims i.e. through the initial interview process, telephonic contact with the Veteran, spouse and/or their representative.
