difference through trial work?The Arizona Attorney General's Office
Child and Family Protection Division/Protective Services Section is
seeking an Assistant Attorney General to assume responsibility for
high quality representation and litigation on behalf of the
Department of Child Safety (DCS).-- -Dependency law is a dynamic
and fast-paced practice in which PSS Assistant Attorneys General
(AAGs) appear in court daily for review hearings, service of
process hearings, evidentiary hearings and contested bench trials.
Additionally, AAGs research facts and legal issues, collaborate and
consult with client representatives and engage in all aspects of
litigating a dependency case from onset of the case to permanency
for the children. PSS work is important, gratifying and rewarding
because it provides the opportunity to work with the Department of
Child Safety in achieving its mission of protecting children and
strengthening familiesJob Duties:
Appears in court, representing the client at scheduled hearings and
trials
Draft and review motions, discovery, documents, correspondence, and
various other legal pleadings necessary to litigate dependency,
guardianship, and termination-- -cases
Meet with the client to prepare cases
Provide counsel and advice to client on substantive issues related
to child welfare.
