Description of Position Hiring Rate: $828.00 per load hour Includes coursework in the following areas: EMS: Emergency Medical Services: Actively seeking qualified EMS instructors . The successful candidate may teach American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses. Other courses include initial and refresher EMT and Paramedic courses, PHTLS / ITLS courses, and Wilderness First Responder courses in a lecture and lab setting. EMT and Paramedic courses utilize the NHTSA National Standard curriculum and the NREMT skills evaluations. Terms of Teaching Assignment: Meet and teach assigned class(es) in accordance with course outlines, including specified textbooks. A course outline is a district-approved document covering such items as course prefix, number, title, description, learning outcomes and content. Develop and submit to the EMS Program Director's office a course syllabus, schedule of assignments based upon the approved college course outline and day-to-day list of topics covered prior to the start of class(es). Promptly submit required rosters, grade reports, evaluations, and academic reports; retain student grade records for one calendar year. Complete student outcomes assessments, as required. Follow the accepted standards of conduct for faculty as described in applicable policies, which relate to satisfactory service and conduct becoming of a faculty member. Attend required instructional related meetings such as orientation meetings; department or division meetings; other meetings as required. Attend meetings and workshops as may be necessary to obtain or renew certifications or essential licensure requirements. Complete the online Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Training Modules by the end of the first semester of teaching. Document the completion of three (3) hours per semester of professional development activities related to the discipline area and student learning. Document the completion of twenty-four (24) hours of instructional methodology training. Yavapai College requires that you use the official email address provided by Yavapai College. It is expected that you will monitor the email account regularly for official correspondence from Yavapai College and your Division, and respond to students in a timely and professional manner. Other related duties as assigned. Teaching assignment may be day or evening, weekday or weekend, in-person or online, and at any Yavapai College campus/center location, per course scheduling. Please attach all unofficial transcripts to complete the application process. Employment is on a non-continuing basis, and consecutive teaching assignments do not lead to probationary or continuing faculty status. Teaching assignments are part-time, on a semester basis only and may or may not be continued based on student enrollment and College need. An Adjunct must remain current in all certifications and credentials. Minimum Expectations & Requirements EMS : Minimum Expectations & Requirements: Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution Emergency Medical Services Lead Instructor must: Possess a minimum of an Associate degree (Bachelor's required by Jan 2020), Professional healthcare credential(s) in related EMS fields, Experience in emergency medicine/pre-hospital care, Have completed 24 hours of training related to instructional methodology, Have adult teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation Emergency Medical Services Faculty/Instructional Staff Qualifications: Professional healthcare credential(s) at or above the level they are instructing, Possess a minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field (by Jan 2023) Faculty must be knowledgeable in course content and effective in teaching their assigned subjects, and capable through academic preparation, training and experience to teach the courses or topics to which they are assigned, Faculty must be certified by a nationally recognized certifying organization at an equal or higher level of professional training than the Emergency Medical Services Profession(s) for which training is being offered. Additional Knowledge: Demonstrated reliability Good communication and organizational skills Exhibit patience and positive attitude in an academic learning environment Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision Computer literacy skills and knowledge of current Microsoft software Good customer relation skills and customer awareness Preferred Skills & Abilities Community college teaching experience- Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
