Description Sign-On Bonus Available for a limited time! $20,000
bonus based on experience for full-time Critical Care Nurses with
two-year commitment. Shift Availability: Must be able to work
nights. Definition: Provides high quality nursing care including,
but not limited to, assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing
standards and guidelines established by the Medical Director,
assesses the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish
and prioritize the care needed for safe transport of the critical
patient to the appropriate facility; is responsible for carrying
out the mission and goals, assuring that safety remains the highest
priority throughout the transport. Specific Duties: Provide
effective, safe care to any patient transported. Provide nursing
care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to
the accepting medical facility. Attend required staff and
educational meetings. Perform duties on the Critical Care Unit in
disastrous or mass critical transports. Maintain certifications and
licenses as mandated by the position. Complies with all Federal,
State and Local Rules and Regulations Maintain positive
communication effectively while interfacing with fellow employees,
patients, referring hospitals, EMS representatives and the
community at large. Uphold and adhere to all policies and
procedures. Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all
equipment and supplies used by Maricopa Ambulance Responsible for
reporting medical equipment failure and taking initial steps to
insure repair of equipment as directed. Maintains adequate supplies
on-board aircraft to deliver patient care. Performs advanced skills
and procedures as approved by the Medical Director. Serves as a
role model, educator, and clinical resource. Participates in
continuing and outreach education programs. Participates in quality
improvement activities as assigned. Undertakes and maintains
projects as assigned. Maintain a clean and operational environment.
Other duties as assigned. Communicate with RN and or MD from
transferring facilities. Have sufficient knowledge of ambulance
operations, standard ALS protocols in order to streamline patient
care between Medic and RN on transports. Continuous MICU and
Cardiac Arrest chart review. Maintain inventory and compliance logs
for all RN level drugs and Narcotics. Responsible for stocking and
re-filling all Registered Nurse (RN) level drug boxes/ bags and
drug boxes/ bags after use. Performs other duties as directed by
management. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Must possess a
high degree of personal integrity and responsibility. Currently
licensed, certified or registered by the appropriate state
agencies. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Minimum of
three years’ critical care/emergency nursing experience. Current RN
license(s) for states of practice. Current certifications in
BLS/CPR, ACLS and PALS required. PHTLS and CICP is preferred but
not required. Competence in advanced practice skills as defined by
Medical Director. Skills as required to practice nursing as defined
by the AZ Board of Nursing. Must have the ability to work
effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment. Must
have the ability to work in a fast paced, hectic, high-pressure
environment. Must have the ability to simultaneously manage
multiple activities without error. Must have the ability to work
efficiently and interact in a constructive and professional manner
with other employees, public safety personnel and medical staff.
Must have the ability to interact effectively and professionally
with patients, customers, clients, family members, bystanders, and
the general public in such a manner as to reflect positively on the
company. Must demonstrate a level of skill and ability consistent
with the provision of quality customer care. Prefer previous or
current certification as Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic
Physical Requirements: The ability to reach, push and pull. The
ability to use hands to perform medical procedures and assessments,
reach with arms, and speak and hear. The ability to sit, stand,
walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell for
several hours at a time. The ability to maintain adequate physical
conditioning to be able to perform job duties. The ability to
perform job duties at high stress levels requiring employee to
function effectively and independently while maintaining good
working relationships with partners, patients, and customers. The
ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. The ability
to perform job duties near moving mechanical parts when outside
weather conditions may be hazardous. The ability to perform job
duties while frequently being exposed to blood-borne pathogens or
airborne particles, fumes and gases. The ability to maintain a
weight for acceptable flight standards for safety and mission
acceptance. The ability to complete all job duties during any and
all hours of the morning, day, evening, and night.
