Experience: 5 years License: Yes Certifications: BLS Certification,
RPSGT Must-Have: - Operational knowledge of office equipment in the
Sleep Lab as well as department-specific equipment, including
polysomnography equipment. - Excellent customer service skills. -
Strong computer, problem-solving, organizational, multitasking,
interpersonal, and time management skills. - Ability to prioritize
work and uphold proper telephone etiquette. - Proficiency in
reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Description:
This position requires a Sleep Technologist with a minimum of 5
years of experience. The technologist will review patient
histories, medications, and procedures. They will apply electrodes
and sensors and perform appropriate calibrations. Data acquisition
will be gathered while monitoring patients. Documentation of
observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, is
essential. The technologist will perform PAP titration according to
protocol and/or policy. Report faxing to physicians and cleaning of
rooms and work areas are also responsibilities. The role requires
adherence to proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect patient
safety standards. Advanced responsibilities include scoring patient
acquisitions and preparing draft reports for interpretation.
Experience with pediatric sleep studies and communication with CPAP
equipment providers is preferred. Organizing the sleep schedule for
managerial approval is also a component of this position.
Participation in departmental meetings and in-services is required.
