is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
position in Arizona, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience,
cardiac/PCU skills, and night shift availability. Details - Acute
care PCU/stepdown unit within a hospital setting, under a Critical
Care service line with Hospitalist coverage - Unit consists of 14
beds (up to 20 with double occupancy rooms) - Patient population
includes cardiovascular and surgical patients: post-cath lab (with
or without intervention), post-open heart surgery (2-3 days),
STEMI/NSTEMI, chronic vents, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation,
new BiPAP/CPAP patients, thoracotomies, and renal disease -
RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 depending on acuity - Equipment
includes Philips Cardiac Monitors, telemetry, Welch Allyn Vital
Signs Monitors, invasive monitoring, Medtronic Pacemakers, Pyxis
medication dispensers, Zoll R Series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, and
Mistral Air Warming units - Charting via Cerner EMR - 12-hour night
shifts (7PM–7AM), 3 shifts per week - Two weekend shifts required
per pay period - Travelers are first to float; floating to MS/Tele
is required and floating to ICU is preferred Requirements - Active
AZ RN license or Compact (NLC) license in good standing — pending
licenses will not be accepted - Current BLS and ACLS certifications
required — pending certifications not accepted - Minimum 2 years of
RN experience required - Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
- EKG/dysrhythmia knowledge and IV cardiac medication
administration skills required - Experience with peritoneal
dialysis, chronic vents, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA
pumps, transvenous pacing, and arterial/venous sheath pulling and
care required - Cerner EMR experience required - Must provide a
copy of a valid driver's license for consideration - Two
professional references required: one supervisor from within the
last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the
last 3 years — must include dates of employment and eligibility for
rehire - Candidate must permanently reside at least 50 miles from
the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate (driver's
license used to verify permanent address) Additional Information -
Responsible for acute RN care of cardiovascular and surgical
patients including post-cath lab, post-open heart surgery, and
management of chest tubes, chronic vents, arterial lines, and
sheath pulls - Navy scrubs and business-appropriate hair color
required - Candidates must pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam (80% or
higher) within two attempts prior to confirming the assignment —
failure on both attempts results in ineligibility at CommonSpirit
Arizona facilities for 6 months - A sterile technique pass/fail
test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
is administered on the first day of orientation - Candidates may
not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by
any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity,
within the past year — candidates employed PRN through outside
firms will be considered American Traveler Job ID P-687557. Pay
package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject
to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
