BLS, NRP, Cardiac STABLE Must-Have: Must have 2 years of Level 4
experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in
the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The unit is a Level 4 NICU with
71 beds, including 17 stepdown beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is
1:2 in the ICU and 1:3 in Level 2. Candidates must be competent in
sterile field practices. All RNs will participate in skills
assessments for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing
changes. Successful completion of these assessments is mandatory.
The unit provides care for patients with various diagnoses,
including premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders,
surgical needs, ECMO, and cooling therapy. There is a high-risk RN
resource and a charge nurse on the unit without patient
assignments. Nurse aides are available for support. Weekend work is
required every third weekend, and three out of six major holidays
must also be covered. The nursing staff is supported by respiratory
therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7. Floating to
mother-baby and labor care (babies only) may be required. Charting
is completed using Cerner EMR. All candidates must demonstrate a
willingness to adapt to different equipment and policies, as these
