Job Description:

Cardiac Catheterization Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days
(Monday-Friday) Hours per Shift: 0700-1730 (Call team takes over
from 1730-0700) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Preferred 2-3 years
of experience in interventional radiology and cardiac
catheterization. Experience with vascular and/or structural heart
procedures is a plus. Familiarity with charting systems and
equipment is preferred. Description: The role involves circulating
cases, administering medications and sedation, and monitoring
patients throughout procedures. Common diagnoses include a variety
of cardiac and interventional cardiology cases, such as diagnostic
heart catheters, PCIs, and device implants. The position also
involves interventional radiology procedures like ports, feeding
tubes, and dialysis catheters, among others. Experience with
structural heart procedures, including TAVR and mitral clips, is
beneficial. This position may require participation in cardiac
ablations and device implants related to electrophysiology. The
role requires a response time of 30 minutes for on-call coverage.
There may be floating requirements to assist in other areas based
on hospital needs. The facility provides scrubs for the cath lab.
Employees typically work 7-10 days of call per month, including one
weekend. There are holiday call commitments during summer and
winter holidays, and the schedule may vary based on staffing. Work
teams consist of 3-4 staff members per room, depending on the case
type. The average number of cases per day is 15-20, and the unit
operates a total of 3 rooms, including a hybrid OR.
