*POSITION SUMMARY*
The Behavioral Health Specialist is an integral part of the team
for the SARRP (Substance Abuse Residential Recovery Program) or
BHRF (Behavioral Health Residential Facility), providing member and
staff safety and therapeutic interactions with members. The
Behavioral Health Specialist assists with the daily operations of
the unit meeting the needs of members. The Behavioral Health
Specialist is responsible for contributing to and creating a
recovery-based environment.
*POSITION DUTIES*
- Provides support and assistance to meet member needs including
helping with ADLS (activity of daily living) as needed.
- Responds to psychiatric codes and intervenes pro-actively using
de-escalation techniques including the least restrictive
interventions appropriate for the situation.
- Use of recovery-oriented, person-first language in all
interactions, with a strong understanding and ability to
demonstrate excellence in customer service.
- Conducts and documents group classes to promote skill building or
education.
- Performs assessment and triage of patients by conducting a brief
screening visit. (SARRP only)
- Completes all required paperwork in a timely and accurate
manner.
- Monitors and reports behavior of members to the treatment
team.
- Keeps unit safe, clean and comfortable for both members and
staff.
- Works with the unit for compliance of safety issues and infection
control.
- Works well under pressure, and able to work well with high acuity
members and effectively de-escalate situation when needed.
- Transport clients to and from appointments and outings.
- Maintain professional boundaries with all members.
- Ensure compliance and adequate services, additional job duties
may be required to meet the needs of the program and/or
department.
- Completes all required training within the required time
frames.
- This position is categorized as essential staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
*GENERAL EXPECTATIONS*
- Provide high quality customer service to internal and external
customers.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes
conflicting deadlines.
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and
supervisors.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement
Processes of the agency.
- Complete all TGC required trainings on time.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism while performing job
functions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn.
- This position is 100% onsite, in the state of Arizona.
*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE*
*Required:*
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience working in behavioral health, education, human
services, or caregiving; or other combination of education and
experience, approved by HR
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona Level One
Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current driver license with no restrictions
- Reliability and schedule flexibility

The physical demands of this position warrant: _Sedentary Work:
Occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds, sitting most of the time and
may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time._

Pay: From $18.88 per hour
