• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
  • Job Details
  • Hospital in AZ in need of RNs to float between PCU, Tele, and Med Surg.
  • Must have 2 years experience in med/tele and 1 year PCU.
    • Job Requirements
    • Current state license.
    • ACLS/BLS certifications.
    • At least 1 year in PCU setting.
    • Nurses must be able to interpret strips.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts are 7-7 for AM and PM.
      • Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time.
      • Every Other Weekend Requirements.
      • Will include travelers in perm staff rotation for Holidays.
      • No call or standby requirement.
      • Night shift will try to accommodate for block scheduling.
      • Travelers will need to be flexible.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Float pool includes MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses.
        • Patients holding in ED may be included.
        • East Campus NextCare is 10 bed, West campus Stepdown is 14 rooms.
        • MedSurg is broken down into 10-room pods.
        • Common diagnoses include geriatric patients, ortho patients, strong cath lab program for post procedural patients, post MI, post Cardiac Cath. CABG post-op day 3-4.
        • RT Equipment includes CPAP or BiPap at night in MedSurg, BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High flow in PCU.
        • Monitor techs present, RNs read strips.
        • There are nurse aids on the unit.
          • Additional Details
          • Nurse:Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6.
          • Charge Nurse does not take assignments.
          • Nurse aids utilized in all settings.
          • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
          • Common titratable and/or set rate drips inlclude Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin.
          • Stepdown units have monitors on the unit, monitor techs monitor PCU and Medsurg Tele.
          • Will be notified 2 hours prior to the start of their shift by text message from the staffing office.
          • Distance between campuses is around 20-25 minutes.
