The certified nursing assistant is a key position in working with the home hospice team. The right candidate is a team player and can prioritize effectively to accomplish the needs of the agency. Working together to serve our community in home hospice needs is a privilege and an opportunity to show Gods love. The responsibilities of the position are listed below along with other duties as needed. Sign-On Bonus $5000Demonstrates knowledge of hospice palliative care; hospice philosophy and scope of services; importance of coordinating services and continuity of care.Recognizes different cultural attitudes and values towards death and dying.Completes required documentation in appropriate timeframes.Explains the certified aide role in the client s plan of care; purpose for the visit; the certified aide services offered by the agency; explains client rights and involves client family members in care.Works under the direction of the Registered Nurse and seeks guidance as needed.Performs personal cares according to clients plan of care. Responds quickly to client requests.Uses positive communication with client and family and respect for client, client family/caregiver and personal needs and environment.Assists client with dressing/undressing, performing personal cares (baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, grooming, changing bed linens and other light laundry).Plans and prepares meals and assists client with feeding according to the client plan of care.Accurately takes and records client s temperature, pulse respiration and blood pressure according to client plan of care.Assists with ambulation and exercise, range of motion and repositioning as instructed by the agency nurse.Assists clients with toileting, bedpan and urinal use as assigned.As directed by state law and the client s plan of care, reminds clients to take medication.Participates in agency in-services; educational opportunities; team meetings and committees.Assists with customer experience/marketing activities to expand community reach.QualificationsHigh school education or higher education is not required to be hired into this job.Completion of an accredited licensed or certified nursing assistant / training program with written skills test and competency evaluation, and formal certificate obtained.Must be at least 18 years of age.At least six months prior work experience in a home health care/hospice and Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant certification.Must have or be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.Must have or be able to obtain a CPR Certification.Provide a Valid Driver s License and Proof of Current Auto Insurance.QualificationsHigh school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course is required.Required to be registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered in the applicable state's Department of Health. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
