Engineer Job Description We are seeking an exceptional mechanical
engineer drafter who combines outstanding technical and analytical
skills with the ability to accomplish tasks quickly and
efficiently. You will be responsible for developing 3D and 2D
mechanical design and related analysis specifically for
flight-critical avionics systems. The ideal candidate will have a
strong foundation in mechanical engineering applicable to both
prototype and production-level designs. Responsibilities Develop 3D
and 2D mechanical designs for flight-critical avionics systems.
Conduct analysis related to mechanical and electronic systems.
Integrate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic
systems. Create detailed work instructions, standard operating
procedures, and test plans. Support both development and production
programs. Drive process improvement initiatives including design
for manufacturing (DFM) and design failure mode and effects
analysis (DFMEA). Utilize Computer Aided Design tools such as
Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics. Contribute to continuous improvement
and lean manufacturing processes. Essential Skills 4 years of
experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. 1 year of
experience with integrating, testing, and troubleshooting
mechanical and electronic systems. 1 year of experience with CAD
tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics. Additional Skills &
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering. Experience from internships or college organizations.
Experience with automated manufacturing processes, including
assembly and test methods. Familiarity with QTP/ATP, functional
testing, and environmental testing such as thermal, acoustic, or
vibration. Formal training or certification in Operational
Excellence Systems (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma) is a plus. Strong
organizational, analytical, root cause analysis, and
problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership
skills. Work Environment The position operates on a back half night
shift schedule, Wednesday through Saturday. The work environment is
focused on building a satellite constellation with an emphasis on
technical excellence and innovation. Job Type & Location This is a
Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The
pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility
