Technician 2 - $51 an hr prevailing wage job Job Description As a
Low Voltage Installer, you will be responsible for various aspects
of fiber installation, including installing, terminating, testing,
and splicing. You will also handle basic copper termination and
install work area outlets for floors, modular furniture, and walls,
ensuring proper termination of CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks. Your role
will include building closets, installing racks, patch panels,
fiber optic hardware, and ensuring appropriate grounding.
Responsibilities Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber cables.
Perform basic copper termination. Install work area outlets and
terminate CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks. Build closets by mounting and
installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, and
fiber optic hardware. Ensure proper grounding for racks, equipment,
and cables. Conduct continuity tests on horizontal and riser
cables, troubleshoot issues using volt-ohmmeter. Install various
connectors including LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP.
Terminate simplex and duplex jumper cords and breakout outside
plant fiber. Install fan-out kits and calculate end-to-end loss
budgets according to TIA/EIA standards. Test fiber using an OTDR to
identify and correct problems. Perform mechanical and fusion
splicing with all types of fiber cables. Conduct building entrance
splices and maintenance space splices. Essential Skills Experience
with fiber optic cabling and cable trays. Proficiency in pulling,
terminating, and testing copper cables (Cat 5, Cat 6). Comfort with
heights and confined spaces. Experience with backbone builds across
OSP. Ability to run and handle materials using hand and power
tools. BICSI certification. at least 2 years of experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 10 certification. Confined
space training and certification. Scissor lift certification. Why

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out
of Goodyear, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position
is $51.00 - $51.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some
