Job Description: ASU Health seeks a creative, energetic and collaborative individual to join its strategic marketing and communications team as Alumni Engagement Coordinator for the College of Health Solutions and the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering. The Alumni Engagement Coordinator will create and manage an alumni engagement program to establish, cultivate, and strengthen relationships between the academic units and their alumni. The ideal candidate will enjoy planning and implementing new programs, generating new ideas, writing and developing communications materials and collaborating with others to ensure success. The Alumni Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Integrated Brand, Marketing and Communications, and will work closely with faculty and staff members in the areas of development, events, student success, alumni engagement at the Outreach Hub, the ASU Foundation and the ASU Alumni Association. Pay: $55,000 per year Essential Duties: Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to foster relationships with alumni and increase engagement between the academic unit and alumni. Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of activities and special events for ASU Health alumni. Establish, manage and foster alumni board to advance ASU alumni and academic initiatives. Plan and coordinate alumni communications, including writing/editing of content for email, newsletters, social media and other materials. Arrange and conduct interviews with alumni; write and edit stories for alumni publications. Recruit and manage alumni and student participation in Alumni Mentorship Program while maintaining participant engagement and program growth. Develop and maintain alumni content on the academic units’ websites. Provide information, assistance and guidance to alumni. Represent the academic units on university committees and serve as the liaison to the ASU Foundation, Alumni Engagement at the Outreach Hub and ASU Alumni Association on matters related to alumni. Update and maintain alumni information in the alumni database. Performs tasks related to alumni relations, such as marketing, development of projects and implementation of goals. Serve as a liaison between the College and various alumni constituencies across ASU to build positive relationships. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts Regular review of completed tasks Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (medium) Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results of tests conducted Deliver presentations Work both independently and within a complex structured team Use office equipment Use an ASU or personal vehicle to travel to different campuses Other duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to build and manage programs and develop strategies to achieve operating goals. Demonstrated ability to plan and design events. Experience with project management, organization and timeline management. Experience planning, coordinating and writing communication campaigns. Experience managing volunteers within a higher education or nonprofit setting. Experience working in higher education. Experience in using attention to detail and follow through. Knowledge of accepted standards of courtesy, etiquette, social sense and personal demeanor. Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with faculty, staff and others as appropriate. Ability to be flexible and adapt as new situations arise. Familiarity with alumni relations and advancement in a higher education setting. Evidence of a graduate of Arizona State University. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions Use of basic math and a calculator Working Environment: Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk (moderate) distances to perform work May be required to work (weekends, evenings, nights as needed) May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses Will be required to travel (for events, between campuses) Position may involve shared offices/space The primary work location is the Downtown Phoenix campus, but a presence on other campuses or at off-campus locations may be required.
