Administration at Valon The Loan Administration team powers all of
the operations required to keep Valon running smoothly. From
onboarding loans to handling insurance and processing payments, the
Loan Administration team ensures that homeowners are continuing to
get a first-class experience with Valon, all from behind the
scenes. About the Role As a Sr. Cash Management Specialist, you
will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and efficient
management of cash-related activities within Valon’s mortgage
servicing operations. This role is critical to maintaining
compliance, optimizing cash flows, and driving process improvements
across the team. You’ll lead complex cash allocation and
reconciliation efforts, mentor junior specialists, and partner with
cross-functional teams to enhance operational workflows. Your
expertise will be instrumental in identifying and implementing best
practices to support Valon’s growth and scalability.
Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end cash management processes,
including cash posting, reconciling accounts, and handling
exceptions. Perform Bank Account Reconciliation Lead the resolution
of escalated issues, including discrepancies, customer disputes,
and complex transaction errors. Develop and refine workflows,
ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance with
investor and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal
teams, such as Investor Reporting, Payment Processing, and
Accounting, to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on cash management policies
and procedures, providing guidance and training to junior team
members. Proactively identify areas for process improvement and
efficiency, and lead the implementation of new tools or
methodologies. Maintain expertise in investor guidelines, including
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae requirements. Assist in
audits and regulatory reporting by providing thorough documentation
and expert insights. Conduct in-depth research on missing payments
and ensure accurate resolution through internal systems and
communication with stakeholders. Complete a variety of banking
tasks such as initiating stop payments, managing whitelisting
procedures, and administering positive pay controls. Manage remote
deposit processes for physical checks received in the office,
ensuring accurate entry and audit compliance. Complete
homeowner-requested payment recast processes, including
recalculating loan terms and updating documentation, in alignment
with investor and servicing guidelines. Lead the resolution of
escalated issues, including complex transaction errors, payment
discrepancies, and customer disputes. Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Background Extensive experience in cash management, mortgage
servicing, or financial operations, with a proven track record of
managing complex processes. Exceptional analytical and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage escalated issues
and deliver resolutions promptly. Strong leadership and mentorship
capabilities, with experience in training and supporting team
members. Expertise in regulatory and investor compliance, including
familiarity with agency guidelines and industry best practices.
Proficient in leveraging financial and operational systems (e.g.,
Black Knight, MSP) to streamline processes. Excellent communication
skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate
effectively across departments. Minimum Qualifications Minimum
education requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent
required 2-3 years of experience in cash management or financial
operations within the mortgage servicing industry. Advanced
proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs,
and data analysis tools. In-depth knowledge of agency investor
guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae) and applicable
regulations. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and improve
operational workflows in a fast-paced environment. Benefits
